Transfer Options at Greenville Technical College

Get on the right PATH with our Planning and Transfer Headquarters

Forty-percent of the students at Greenville Technical College are earning credits and gaining a strong foundation that they will take with them as they transfer to a four-year college or university. GTC students enroll in the same freshman and sophomore classes they’d take somewhere else, but here they find the added benefits of:

  • Cost savings - significantly lower tuition than four-year colleges and universities
  • Smaller classes - less feeling like a number and more attention when you need it
  • Campuses close to home - helping to ease the transition to independence, as well as saving money

Greenville Technical College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges just as Clemson and USC are, so you receive a quality education and your credits move with you when you transfer.

The Planning and Transfer Headquarters (PATH) assists students in preparing their path to transfer, providing them information, resources, and academic planning services for a smooth transfer process.

  • PATH organizes Transfer Days on Tuesdays and Thursdays, where representatives from four year colleges and universities are scheduled on campus to answer questions and help plan your transfer path.
  • Looking for transfer information for a specific institution? PATH can connect you with the most up-to-date information to complete your transfer goal.

Greenville Technical College has articulation and transfer agreements which allow you to save money on tuition as you begin college with small classes in a setting that’s close to home before you transfer.  Our advisors assist you with selecting the right courses, giving you a road map to reach the four-year degree and college you've chosen. Discuss with your academic advisor which option will work best for your major and transfer destination.

What are articulation and transfer agreements?

Articulation agreements are designed for seamless transfer of GTC courses into a designated academic program at a four-year college or university. By meeting the requirements of the agreement, the credits you earn here at Greenville Technical College are guaranteed to transfer there and apply to your bachelor's degree program without losing credits or duplicating courses.  An example of 2+2 articulation would be where a student graduates from GTC with an associate degree and enters the four-year college or university as a junior.

Transfer agreements provide a list of specific transferable courses from Greenville Technical College to the four-year college or university.
