Greenville Technical College announced today a $50,000 grant from Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC). The donation will be used to support scholarships for students enrolled in Quick Jobs with a Future programs and for professional development for instructors teaching at the Center for Manufacturing Innovation (CMI). In recognition of this gift, the theater at the CMI, where groups will gather to watch videos and hear presentations, has been named the Wells Fargo Theater.

Quick Jobs programs allow students to quickly gain the skills needed to start in a career field that is currently hiring in Greenville County. Most of the students are unemployed, underemployed or in need of new skills to assure continued employment.
The Center for Manufacturing Innovation is designed to close the skills gap that has hampered growth in manufacturing, an economic powerhouse for the Upstate. This one-stop-shop for manufacturing industries will offer a unique environment for educating the manufacturing workforce of the future as it showcases the careers and technology in this sector, attracting younger students and career changers to rewarding professions.
