Vehicle Registration
Two types of parking decals are available:
- Student (yellow with white background; black logo and lettering, black numbers)
- Faculty/Staff (green with white background; white logo and lettering, black numbers)
Please note: Student parking decals expire on the date on the face of the decal. Faculty/Staff decals are valid until notification of replacement, and the new expiration date of the old decals will accompany that notice.
The individual who registered the vehicle will be responsible for all violations assessed on the vehicle.
Decals are distributed by the GTC Police on the Barton Campus and the GTC Department of Public Safety on the satellite campuses.
Follow these steps to receive your decal:
- Go to Greenville Tech Parking Permit Request Center: https://www.permitsales.com/gvltec/
- Click “GVLTEC LOG IN” and sign in with your Greenville Tech login.
- Click “Edit Profile” and complete all boxes.
- Click “Edit/Add Vehicles” and enter all information asked. If have multiple vehicles, please complete this step for each vehicle. Click “Return Home” once complete.
- Click “Select Permit”, then click on “SELECT”, then click “Add to Account”. If need multiple permits, please complete this step for each permit.
- Read Terms and Conditions, click that you agree and click “Complete Registration”. If you do not have the check box for the Terms and Conditions, you missed one of the above steps.
- Bring your Driver’s License AND your student/employee ID number to one of the locations below to obtain your parking decal.

- State-issued driver's license
- Greenville Technical College ID and your Student or Employee ID number (If you don’t have one, you can get it from one of the ID locations listed under "WHERE TO GET DECALS" above.)
- Vehicle information, including tag number
Students will be issued up to three (3) permanent decals for their vehicles. Temporary permits can be issued for any additional vehicles at any time during the academic year.
The decal is issued to the student, who will be responsible for all violations assessed on the vehicle. Upon sale or transfer of the vehicle, the GTC Parking Permit must be removed. The decal will be invalid upon separation from the college, whether voluntary or involuntary.
The decal for students for each academic year will be valid for the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
Parking for daytime students is limited to white lines only before 5 p.m. on weekdays on all campuses. After 5 p.m., students may park in white or green line spaces. Parking in a space designated for a specific department or person is prohibited at all times, regardless of the color of the lines.
Faculty/staff will be issued up to three (3) permanent decals for their vehicles during the duration of their employment with GTC at no cost. Temporary permits can be issued for any additional vehicles at any time during the academic year. The decal will be valid until further notice.
- The vehicle/permit will be used solely by the faculty/staff member issued the decal. The vehicle, if used by any other person(s) attending classes or events on college property must be parked in student parking (white line spaces) only.
- The decal allows the faculty/staff member to park that vehicle in faculty staff parking (green line spaces) or student parking (white line spaces) only.
- The individual issued a faculty/staff permit will be responsible for any parking fines/violations associated with their vehicle/permit.
- Faculty/staff members may request up to three (3) permanent parking permits solely for their use. Faculty/staff members will not request or obtain permits for usage for any other person.
- Fines/citations can be appealed within five business days of the issuance of a citation to the Dean of Students (appeal form). Citations not appealed within five days will be deemed valid. The faculty/staff member will be responsible for all fines associated with the citation after five days or final adjudication by the dean of students.
- Three (3) or more citations within an academic year could result in sanctions related to the employment status. This could include disciplinary action.

The decal must be affixed to the outside of the rear window using the adhesive on the back of the decal. Place it on the left side at the bottom. Exceptions to this rule are
- CONVERTIBLES AND TRUCKS WITH REMOVABLE COVERS: The decal can be affixed on the outside of the front windshield, on the driver's side at the bottom (below the field of view).
- MOTORCYCLES: Place the decal in a visible location, such as the front fork, fender, data plate area, windshield, etc.
All vehicles must pull in and NOT back into or pull through a parking space. The rear of your vehicle should be visible at all times. When parallel parking, park with traffic flow, placing your passenger door to the curb.
Four types of temporary parking permits are available: Student, Faculty/Staff, Visitor/Guest, and Contractor. Temporary permits are available at the same locations as decals above. Bring with you:
- State-issued driver's license
- Greenville Technical College ID (if requesting Faculty/Staff or Student permit)
- Vehicle information, including tag number
Place the temporary permit on the driver’s side of your dash. Temporary permits are valid on all campuses in designated parking spaces until the expiration date on the permit.
