Industrial Electricity

• Qualify as an entry-level electrician or electrical apprentice.

• Earn starting pay ranging from $11 to $14 in construction or from $12 to $15 in facility maintenance.

• Gain the knowledge to take the South Carolina State Journeyman’s Electrical License Exam with this certificate and 18 additional months of work experience, a credential that can raise your pay to $18 an hour.

• With two additional years of documented experience, a master’s license will allow you to earn around $23 an hour in facility maintenance and $25 an hour in construction.

• Basic electricity including installation and troubleshooting of electrical systems
• Introduction to the National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Motor-control circuits
• Residential wiring/NEC
• Commercial wiring/NEC
• AC/DC machines

You'll study four evenings a week for three semesters, and full-time students can finish in one year.
