While most traditional associate degrees take at least two years to complete, Greenville Technical College allows you to complete the same education in up to half that time.
The School of Arts & Sciences offers accelerated courses meeting the requirements of the Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree. That means you could complete the Associate in Arts or Science degree in one year with a full-time three semester program.
There will be two 7-week terms each fall and spring semester. The summer semester will be 10 weeks in length (some exceptions may apply). These fast-track format classes may include face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid (a mix of face-to-face and online).
FOR COMPLETING A ONE-YEAR DEGREE
Due to the number of credit hours required to complete a degree in one year, students must be able to attend classes Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. as well as online. A part-time option is not available to complete a degree in one year.
FOR TAKING INDIVIDUAL ACCELERATED CLASSES
If you aren’t ready to commit to taking all your courses in fast-track format, you can still take a few accelerated classes with your other regular-schedule classes. You can take an accelerated version of subjects where you are strong, while sticking with the regular class schedule of subjects where you may not feel as confident. You may even be able to finish your degree early!
SCHEDULE FOR ACCELERATED CLASSES
Completing an accelerated Associate in Arts or Science degree requires completing credit hours in excess of the 18 credit hour per term limit. Please see the Tuition and Fees page for details on those costs as well additional course fees. Textbooks are not included. Actual costs may be subject to your eligibility for in-county tuition and financial aid grants.
