Loans are borrowed money that must be repaid when you graduate.

To be offered student loans, you must complete Direct Loan Entrance Counseling at studentaid.gov. If you previously completed loan counseling at a different institution, you WILL need to complete it again and select Greenville Technical College as the college. After GTC receives the electronic notice, student loans will be added to your financial aid awards (provided you meet all eligibility requirements). This process could take two to three weeks.
Greenville Technical College encourages you to complete Financial Awareness Counseling for undergraduate students. This online counseling session will assist you in making a decision on how much you need to borrow for this academic year. Log in to studentaid.gov and choose Complete Counseling on the left side toolbar and then select Financial Awareness Counseling. This counseling is not required, but we are confident that it will help you make wise financial decisions today and in the future.
Remember that no loan funds will be disbursed to your account unless you have signed a Direct Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) at studentaid.gov.
