The purpose of this organization is to educate the community about the profession of Medical Assisting. The goal is to instill in students the importance of their role as Medical Assistants in health care and giving back to the community. By doing so, it enhances the development of professional, cognitive, and effective skills required by employers and patients. Also, the organization will teach students how to pursue continuing education after graduation and provide information to their professional state society organization (SCSMA) and national organization (AAMA) while encouraging membership to receive benefits available by the organization.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK)

Phi Theta Kappa recognizes and encourages scholarship, leadership, and service among the students in two-year colleges in America. To accomplish this purpose, the group provides opportunities to develop leadership and service, an intellectual climate for the exchange of ideas and ideals, stimulation of interest in continued academic excellence and fellowship. Students who are in associate degree programs, who have at least two remaining semesters, and who have accumulated 12 credit hours and a 3.4 cumulative grade point average are eligible to apply. Graduating members receive special recognition at the graduation ceremony.
Sexuality and Gender Acceptance (SAGA)
