8-05 Campus Closures

Rationale and Purpose

This policy is in effect in order to ensure the safety and/or normal operations of the college.

Policy Statement

Greenville Technical College (GTC) will determine its own schedule with regard to cancellation of classes, college activities and other events and any delayed opening or early closures. GTC will utilize the following with regard to the operating hours:

  1. College campus(es)/building(s) will be closed
  2. College campus(es)/building(s) will have a delayed opening
  3. College campus(es)/building(s) will close early

The college reserves the right to close, delay opening, or close early a building, campus, center, or other property at any time depending on circumstances.

Scope

This policy applies to all GTC employees, students, community members, and any other stakeholder on GTC property.

Roles/Responsibilities

The Campus Closure Team enforces this policy.

Non-Compliance

Failure to comply with/follow this policy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
