Greenville Technical College has received Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II) funding that was authorized by the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSA Act). This funding is similar to the CARES Act funding the college received in 2020. However, there are different regulations for the new funding through HEERF II – CRRSA Act.
You have been identified as a potential recipient. The college is working to distribute the funds as quickly as possible while following all federal guidelines. As we work through the processes on our end, we would appreciate it if you would review and, if necessary, update your mailing address on WebAdvisor (click on Student Profile and then Contact Information Change) so we can get the funds to you as quickly as possible.
We will send out another communication on Monday, March 22, 2021, with additional information regarding the disbursement of these funds.

A: E-Checks and paper checks will be sent no later than Tuesday, March 30, 2021. If you do not have direct deposit set up at this time, you will receive a check in the mail.
Q: Can I use my Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II - CRRSAA) funding for a balance on my spring 2021 account?
A: Per the HEERF II – CRRSAA Act legislation, students can apply funds toward a back balance. To determine if you have a back balance, access GTC4me, click on the Self Service tab, then click on the Student Finance section. You will be able to view your Account Summary to determine if you have an account balance.
If you do have a back balance on your account and you choose to pay the back balance with HEERF II - CRRSAA funds, you must access the HEERF II – CRRSAA Past Balance Authorization Form under Helpful Links in the Student Finance section or the Financial Aid section of GTC4me. If you decide to submit the form to authorize the use of your HEERF II - CRRSAA funds to pay toward your back balance, you must complete and submit the form no later than 03/23/2021. If you have a back balance, we encourage you to pay off the back balance to avoid delays in future registrations or transcript requests.

As discussed in the e-mail that you received on Saturday, March 20, 2021, Greenville Technical College has received Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II) funding that was authorized by the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSA Act). You have been identified as a potential recipient. The college is working to distribute the funds as quickly as possible while following all federal guidelines.
The funds will be distributed based on the following formula:
Enrolled students who had a Federal Pell Grant transmitted to their student account as of March 16, 2021, are eligible for a $450 base award plus additional funds based on the credit hours they were registered for on March 16, 2021.
For example, a student who had a Federal Pell Grant disbursed to their account as of March 16, 2021, and was enrolled in 9 credit hours on March 16, 2021, and meets the eligibility criteria outlined above, will receive a HEERF II – CRRSA Act grant of $750.
A student who is not eligible for a Pell grant and was enrolled in 9 credit hours on March 16, 2021, and meets the eligibility criteria outlined above, will receive a HEERF II – CRRSA Act grant of $300.
If you have a balance due, it will not impact the amount you receive from the HEERF II - CRRSA Act funds you receive. Only students who completed the HEERF II – CRRSA Act Past Balance Authorization Form by 03/23/2021 will have the HEERF II – CRRSA Act funds you receive used to pay toward a past due balance.
If you did not complete the HEERF II – CRRSA Act Past Balance Authorization Form by 03/23/2021 and you choose to use your HEERF II – CRRSA Act funds to pay toward a past due balance after receiving them, you can do so with one of the three options below:
The college will use the verified bank account that is currently on file for your college account to deposit the funds unless you delete the account by 11:59 PM on March 28, 2021. Students who do not have a verified bank account on file will receive a check mailed to the address on the student’s file as of 11:59 PM on March 28, 2021.
You should be able to view the amount that has been awarded to you on Financial Aid Self-Service no later than March 30, 2021. Go to GTC4me, login, click Self-Service, and then click Financial Aid. 6,931 students are receiving HEERF II – CRRSA ACT funds. Greenville Technical College is committed to getting the funds to you as quickly as possible. Individual phone calls will slow the process and could delay disbursements. The college will process the funds on Tuesday, March 30, 2021. Direct deposit will arrive in your bank account within two days and paper checks will be mailed no later than Friday, April 2, 2021.
