Greenville Technical College has received Higher Education Emergency Fund III (HEERF III) funding that was authorized by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARP Act). This funding is similar to the CARES Act funding the college received in 2020 and CRRSA Act funding received in the spring of 2021. However, there are different regulations for the new funding through HEERF III – ARP Act.
You have been identified as a potential recipient. The college is working to distribute the funds as quickly as possible while following all federal guidelines. As we work through the processes on our end, we would appreciate it if you would review and, if necessary, update your mailing address on WebAdvisor no later than July 25, 2021 (click on Student Profile and then Contact Information Change) so we can get the funds to you as quickly as possible.

A: E-Checks and paper checks will be sent no later than Monday, August 2, 2021. E-check recipients should receive your funds no later than August 4, 2021 (depending on your banking institution’s processes). If you do not have direct deposit set up by midnight on July 25, 2021, you will receive a paper check in the mail.

You will be able to view your Account Summary to determine if you have an account balance.

The HEERF III – ARP Act funds will be distributed based on the following formula:
Enrolled students who had a Federal Pell Grant transmitted to their student account as of June 30, 2021, are eligible for a $500 base award plus additional funds based on the credit hours they were registered for on June 30, 2021.
For example, a student who had a Federal Pell Grant disbursed to their account as of June 30, 2021, and was enrolled in 9 credit hours on June 30, 2021, and meets the eligibility criteria outlined above, will receive a HEERF III – ARP Act grant of $800.
A student who is not eligible for a Pell grant and was enrolled in 9 credit hours on June 30, 2021, and meets the eligibility criteria outlined above, will receive a HEERF III – ARP Act grant of $300.
Per the HEERF III – ARP Act legislation, students can apply funds toward a prior balance. To determine if you have a prior or current term balance, click on the GTC4me URL, https://gtc4me.gvltec.edu, log in with your username and password, click on the Self Service tab, then click on the Student Finance section. You will be able to view your Account Summary to determine if you have an account balance.

The college will use the verified bank account that is currently on file for your college account to deposit the funds unless you delete the account by 11:59 PM on July 25, 2021. Students who do not have a verified bank account on file will receive a check mailed to the address on the student’s file as of 11:59 PM on July 25, 2021.
You should be able to view the amount that has been awarded to you on Financial Aid Self-Service no later than July 29, 2021.
