Greenville Technical College recognized members of the community and the college who act unselfishly in service to others. This year, the Unsung Heroes awards event was held on January 21, 2014 with four categories of recognition: student, college faculty and staff, community member, and corporate representative. Bo Robertson was the honoree in the student category. Robertson is a campus leader with many different groups including the Greenville Tech Veterans, the college?s Habitat for Humanity club, and the Student Government Association. Employees recognized were David Ackerman, Tomeika Bennett, and Mary Brockman. Bennett serves as an instructor, committee member, and advisor, always advocating for doing what is best for the student and reminding others to view challenges through the student perspective. Brockman, a thirty-year employee of the college, has spent her entire adult life giving of her time, energy and talent in order to be a champion of the defenseless, the powerless, and the poor. Community honorees were Kelly Walker, Bryan Dods, Mike McCormick, and Jason Premo.
