Angie Brown, department head and associate professor of Indirect Patient Care with the Corporate and Career Development Division at Greenville Technical College, has been selected as the South Carolina Technical Education Association?s Educator of the Year for Administrator/Manager. The award is designed to recognize outstanding individuals whose primary responsibilities include managing or administering a program, unit or division within a college or the technical education system office. Criteria include demonstration of effective management techniques, promotion of the college or system office in the community, continual professional development, and demonstration of innovation. Each technical college in the state nominates an individual for this award and two others in the categories of staff and faculty/teaching. One individual is then selected in each category from all nominees submitted. Winners were announced at the organization?s conference, held Feb. 20-22 in Myrtle Beach.
