Summer classes bring transient visiting students to Greenville Technical College, where they take classes that transfer back to their home colleges, allowing them to catch up or get ahead while they are in town. This summer, students can choose from a wide variety of freshman and sophomore level classes in many disciplines along with special offerings and convenient schedules. BIO 205, an ecology course that transfers to many colleges as a biology elective or in place of an Introduction to Environmental Biology class, will be offered in a 10-week format. The class will include trips to Jones Gap to study stream insect diversity and Lake Conestee to study lake/forest ecosystems. Convenient scheduling options are part of the summer lineup. During Maymester, May 15 through June 5, courses in English, psychology, public speaking, theatre and more will be offered. In addition, condensed mini-mesters will be offered in June and July. Most 10-week classes meet Monday through Thursday, but this summer, there will also be 10-week classes that meet only two days a week, giving students who work more flexibility with their schedules.
