A long-time supporter of the work done at Greenville Technical College (GTC) has committed to a planned gift valued at $100,000 to establish an endowed scholarship fund. Don Erickson, currently the Greenville Site Leader for Lockheed Martin, has pledged his support.
At Lockheed Martin, Erickson has led the company to become a consistent corporate supporter of the students at GTC. In making this personal gift he said, “I saw this as something I could do to leave a legacy that will give others an opportunity to learn the skills needed to be successful in their work. I’ve personally seen the results of Greenville Tech’s quality education through my son and daughter-in-law. I cannot think of a better organization to support. Greenville Tech provides education across all socio-economic backgrounds. Its track record of overwhelming support to Greenville and the upstate has been significant to me.”
Lockheed Martin has contributed to an endowed scholarship fund for Aircraft Maintenance Technology students and has supported student veterans with a 2014 gift that created a place where they can gather and study.
“Don Erickson represents one of our most valued corporate partners through his role at Lockheed Martin,” said Dr. Keith Miller, president of Greenville Technical College. “With his personal support, he also represents the best in our community as someone who wants to help others succeed. We are very grateful for his generosity.”
