A $12,500 gift from TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank® will support students through the Achieving the Dream (AtD) initiative at Greenville Technical College. The gift has allowed the college to purchase a complete toolbox and all content including micrometer sets, calipers, gage sets and more used to set up machines for CNC Machine Operator classes. These toolboxes directly impact student success.
Thanks to the Achieving the Dream (AtD): Community Colleges Count initiative, colleges are finding ways to help students succeed by using data to guide priorities and decisions. This multi-year, national effort is particularly concerned with student groups that traditionally have faced significant barriers to success, including students of color and low-income students. More than 200 colleges in 36 states are part of the AtD network, helping students persist and graduate.
"We recognize the importance that a ready and skilled workforce has on the health of our community and economy,” said David Lominack, SC market president for TD Bank. “The TD Charitable Foundation is pleased to support Achieving the Dream, which provides a clear avenue and support system to help these students gain the necessary tools and skills to succeed.”
“Greenville Technical College's involvement with the Achieving the Dream initiative is important because this national effort is aimed at helping more students finish what they start. We are grateful to TD Charitable Foundation for assisting our students as they attempt to improve their own lives, improving our community in the process,” said Dr. Keith Miller, president of Greenville Technical College.
