Amber Morgan was selected as Professor of the Year at Greenville Technical College from the approximately 350 faculty members who work across five campuses. Morgan is department head for Academic Connections at the college, working to increase student success through initiatives including a First-Year Experience Program that enhances student engagement and the creation of a Financial Education Center designed to improve financial literacy.
Mary Ann Billig was named Adjunct Professor of the Year, selected from a pool of approximately 400 part-time instructors. Billig teaches math in the Transitional Studies area, preparing her students to succeed in higher level math courses and building their confidence in and enjoyment of the subject.
Through selection for faculty honors at Greenville Technical College, Morgan and Billig become National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence Award recipients, and will be recognized at the organization’s annual conference in May. NISOD is committed to excellence in teaching, learning and leadership at community and technical colleges, and the awards to be presented recognize those who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment and contribution to students and colleagues.
