The Beach Company has donated scholarship funds to Greenville Technical College to support students studying real estate, project management, and construction through the college’s Quick Jobs with a Future program.
The funds will allow eight students to receive half scholarships. This is the second year that The Beach Company has donated to the college to help students achieve their goals, with last year’s gift supporting six half scholarships.
The Quick Jobs with a Future program allows working adults, or those in occupational transition, to quickly obtain skills matching the needs of local business and industry. The program offers training and certifications that are skills specific and job preparatory with most courses lasting three months or less.
“We are grateful to The Beach Company for growing the workforce by providing funds that help students connect with opportunities,” said Steve Hand, director of the Quick Jobs with a Future program. “Scholarships eliminate barriers for deserving people and help us create qualified employees.”
“The Beach Company has supported various grass roots organizations which provide valuable contributions to youth and education, arts and culture and other community based philanthropy in Greenville, but we are especially pleased to support Greenville Tech’s programs. Scholarships for technical education help to expand the local workforce and raise the standard of living, while also helping the city attract new businesses. It’s an investment with a far-reaching ripple effect,” said Dan Doyle, senior vice president of The Beach Company.
