Greenville Technical College has been selected as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges, an honor extended to only 18 institutions this year. The designation comes from Diverse: Issues in Higher Education in partnership with the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development.
The award recognizes the extent to which diversity and inclusion permeate administrative structures, commitments, work environments, and staffing practices. Promising practices include increasing faculty and staff diversity, fostering the staff’s sense of belonging, and equipping college student educators for their work with students. Examples include recognizing good work, committing to meet the needs of the community, and investing in the development of faculty and staff.
“The quality of our work environment directly translates to the effectiveness of our services to students,” said Dr. Keith Miller, president of Greenville Technical College. “While we are very proud of this recognition, we know that creating a high performing workplace must continue to be our focus.”
