James Hunter, a recent graduate of the Greenville Technical College (GTC) Marketing program was awarded the college’s FM Rogers Leadership Award for 2018. James graduated with a 3.77 GPA having maintained a full-time factory technician career position while attending GTC. He is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa student honor organization, and has served as a community volunteer for Hands on Greenville and Project Host. James is continuing his studies beyond Greenville Technical College at Southern Wesleyan University.
This award was created to honor the exemplary leadership and commitment to helping others demonstrated by FM Rogers who served as dean of the college’s Business and Public Service Division from 1997 to 2009. To be eligible, students must complete a minimum of 30 hours in their program of study, maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0, and make a difference in our community.
“The F.M. Rogers Leadership Award inspires student success, and is a most fitting way to honor the memory of a very special lady who impacted so many lives.” said Michelle Byrd, dean of Business and Technology.
