Three Greenville Technical College students will be awarded a $3,000 Persistence Scholarship for the Spring Semester on January 11, 2019, thanks to a new funding from the Greenville Tech Foundation.
In order to be eligible for the new scholarship, currently enrolled, degree-seeking GTC students must register for Spring 2019 classes by January 6, 2019. By completing the spring registration process, eligible students will then be entered for a chance to be randomly selected for this one-time scholarship, which would provide $2,500 in tuition plus a $500 book voucher for each recipient.
“We’re thankful for each student who chose Greenville Tech as their college of choice this fall, and we care about each individual’s success,” said Dr. Alecia Watt, director of Educational Opportunity Programs and co-chair of the Persistence and Retention Committee at Greenville Tech. “To celebrate and encourage that success, we’ve created a new scholarship that will help cover the cost of the Spring Semester. Also, by encouraging our current students to register for spring classes earlier, we believe our students are set up for even greater success as evidence shows that those who start college and complete their course of study without taking a break between semesters have the highest completion rates.”
Current Fall 2018 GTC students are encouraged to complete the spring registration process online as soon as possible in order to make their best course schedule. Visit GTC4Me > Student Planning to register today. Students who have earned 18 credit hours or less are now required to meet with an advisor prior to registering for classes to ensure they are selecting the proper courses for their career goals and program completion.
