Dr. Pamela Wash has been named dean of the School of Education and Professional Studies at Greenville Technical College (GTC). Over her 28-year career, she has served in educational leadership roles including interim associate dean, university director of distance education, department chair, assessment coordinator, and program director.
Prior to coming to GTC, Wash served as professor and department chair of Counseling, Leadership and Educational Studies at Winthrop University. She also gained leadership and faculty experience from positions with USC Upstate and Lander University.
Wash brings a wealth of curriculum and accreditation experience. She has served as a national program reviewer for the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)/Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and the SC Department of Education. She has successfully written specialized professional association accreditation reports, co-authored institutional reports, and contributed to program area self-study reports, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) standards, and SC Commission on Higher Education new and modified program reports.
Wash has published one book, written 32 peer-reviewed manuscripts, completed one peer-reviewed proceeding, reviewed five academic texts, and authored 15 manuals and/or technical reports. She has presented at international, national, regional, and local conferences and has served on various professional boards.
Wash earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of South Carolina Aiken and a master’s degree and Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina Columbia.
