Submissions are sought for the February 2020 art exhibition by the Greenville Technical College library, in celebration of African American History Month. The show will be on display from February 1 to February 28, 2020. An opening reception will be held on February 3, 2020 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Barton Campus library, located in the Beattie E. Huff Student Center, building 105.
The show is open to African American visual artists. Current and former Greenville Technical College students, faculty, and staff are highly encouraged to submit.
All forms of visual art will be considered including but not limited to sculpture, photography, print, and paint with a maximum size of 3’ x 5’. Works that will be hung must be professionally framed and use a wire hanger. Artists are responsible for delivery and pick-up of their work and will be required to sign a hold-harmless agreement. Works may be for sale. Patrons requesting information about the purchase of a work or a commission will be directed to contact the artist directly.
Artists may submit up to three pieces for consideration. Submissions should include a hi-res 300 DPI jpeg and artist statement for each piece being submitted. An artist bio and headshot should also be included along with the artist’s name, address, email address, and phone number. Artist bios, headshots, and statements will be included in the show brochure. Artists with a current or former relationship with the college are encouraged to include that information with their submission. Submissions should be emailed to AAHM@gvltec.edu by January 13, 2020. Those selected to be in the show will be notified via phone by January 17, 2020.
