The Greenville Tech Foundation honored three major donors and highlighted their critical role in helping the college develop highly qualified students for local employment at the 2019 Workforce Development Salute held on Thursday, October 3,
“This year’s event brought over 80 sponsors and hundreds of community and business leaders together as we celebrated the partners who join with us to produce a high-quality workforce,” said Dr. Keith Miller, president of Greenville Technical College. “Thanks to the businesses and individuals that invest in education, we are able to help students gain the relevant skills they need to succeed while ensuring that employers can find qualified talent.”
Proceeds from the evening will help the Foundation advance the college’s mission of transforming lives through education. The event raised more than $150,000 in unrestricted funds.
“The difference our donors make cannot be overstated,” said Ann Wright, vice president for advancement with the Greenville Tech Foundation. “This year, we honored a graduate who is paying it forward, a foundation that provides scholarships, equipment, and emergency funds, and a company that is helping us create the aerospace industry’s future workforce. We are grateful to Dodie Anderson, the Jolley Foundation, and Lockheed Martin along with all the companies, individuals, and organizations that support our students.”
