Dr. Abul Hasan has been selected as dean for the School of Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Technology and director of the Center for Manufacturing Innovation at Greenville Technical College.
Hasan brings more than 28 years of experience in academia with more than 12 years in leadership. He most recently served as dean of the School of Engineering Technologies at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology where he was responsible for seven programs enrolling 400 students.
Prior to that position, he was director of academic affairs for the Australian College of Kuwait, in charge of all academics for the institution. He served as academic dean for George Mason University’s Ras Al Khaimah Campus in the United Arab Emirates. He was an assistant professor, professor and later chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering for the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He also served as head of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology at Yanbu Industrial College in Saudi Arabia.
Hasan also brings industrial experience to his new role. He worked as an assistant engineer for the Bangladesh Power Development Board and as an engineer with Tripoli Electricity Corporation in Libya. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at the University of Engineering and Technology in Bangladesh, a master’s degree in electrical engineering at the University of North Dakota, and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Wyoming.
