Fitesa has doubled its endowment at Greenville Technical College with a recent $15,000 gift to the Greenville Tech Foundation. The gift creates additional scholarships for students enrolled in manufacturing-related pathways through the college’s School of Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering Technology, which includes programs in Computer Numerical Control Programming & Operations, Machine Tool Technology, and Mechatronics Technology.
Fitesa is a manufacturer in the nonwoven fabrics industry, specializing in providing innovative fabrics for the hygiene, medical, and industrial markets.
The scholarship has helped Greenville Technical College students since 2002. Fitesa-funded scholarships are awarded to students with GPAs of 3.0 or higher. Preference is given to graduates of Hillcrest High School, though other Greenville County students are considered if no suitable Hillcrest recipient applies.
“Fitesa is committed to investing in the communities in which we operate. We are pleased to continue the long-standing support of Greenville Technical College and this year, increase our financial support, which will help provide educational opportunities to the next generation of leaders in the manufacturing industry,” stated Ricardo Fasolo, US Regional Managing Vice President.
“We are grateful to Fitesa for their commitment to the future advanced manufacturing workforce,” said Ann Wright, vice president for advancement with the Greenville Tech Foundation. “These scholarships will continue to remove financial barriers and ensure that Greenville County has the workforce needed to keep the economy strong.”
