The Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at Greenville Technical College is now booking appointments for free OB ultrasounds at its clinic on the Barton Campus.
These ultrasounds are performed by students in the ultrasound lab under instructor supervision. Live 4D scanning will be performed, and 3D pictures will be provided to all patients. Scanning labs are for expectant mothers between 22 and 30 weeks gestational age at time of their appointment.
Typically this is a fun and educational time for parents as they get to hear more about what sonographers do during an ultrasound as well as see their babies’ growth. Exams take about one hour.
Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Interested parents should note:
- Written approval from your primary OB physician on either physician office letterhead or prescription pad is required, must reflect the patient’s name, and be presented as a printed document at the time of appointment to participate in the lab.
- Labs are for training purposes only and will in no way be a substitute for an official ultrasound examination ordered by your physician.
- A release form must be signed by the patient prior to scan.
