Kevin McMindes, Greenville Technical College’s research and planning administrator, was recently recognized by the Southern Association for Institutional Research (SAIR) with the Best Paper Award. The award is based on a conference session that McMindes presented to SAIR members in October in New Orleans titled: “Putting Student Success Initiatives on the Map: A framework to inform effectiveness and efficiency.”
SAIR is the regional affiliate for the International Association for Institutional Research (AIR), described on its website as the go-to source for information, resources, and training for professionals who collect, analyze, interpret, and communicate data in higher education.
The conference session explored using an innovative methodology to analyze increases in persistence for various student success initiatives. Adding budget data to measure the spend-per-student-served, results inform direction, focus, and future assessment. McMindes will present his session again for the AIR conference this summer.
