Family and guests are invited to attend the commencement ceremony. You can find more information by navigating through the menus below.
Family and guests attending the ceremony should be seated 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony. Graduates will begin processing in approximately 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of the ceremony. During the processional, late arriving spectators will be required to wait outside the Ballroom until all graduates have entered. Family and guests needing special handicapped seating should see a Convention Center staff member upon arrival.
There will be no tickets or guest passes required for entry into the ceremony.
Guests of the event will be restricted form entering the graduate and faculty seating areas prior to the ceremony. Following each ceremony, the graduates are invited to gather with family and guests outside in the Lobby Area.
The ceremony will last approximately one hour. Please remain seated until all graduates and faculty/staff have exited at the end of the ceremony.
Applause: Family/guests are invited to stand in recognition of graduate achievement. Whistling, cheering, and boisterous behavior are considered inappropriate. Applause is traditionally reserved until after all diplomas, certificates, and degrees have been awarded so that everyone's name may be heard.
Please make sure your cell phones are turned off or silenced.
Children are welcome but please note the ceremony is not designed to keep the attention of young children. If necessary, please make child-care arrangements or sit where exits are nearby for quick exiting as children may become restless and uncomfortable with the ceremony. No strollers, wagons, etc. are to be left on the aisles. They must be able to be folded into the rows to keep the aisle clear. We recommend small umbrella style strollers if necessary for small children.
