Placement Testing

If you don’t have qualifying scores or credits for placement, you and your advisor may determine that taking placement tests is the best option for you. The ACCUPLACER placement test is computerized and not timed. The average testing time is up to three hours. Since it’s computerized, it is possible to stop during the test and finish at a later time.

In an effort to support your success and expedite placement testing for enrollment, we offer two options available for completing the ACCUPLACER placement test.

ON-CAMPUS TESTING

On-site ACCUPLACER Placement Testing is available at various campus locations. Testing will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Requirements:

Students must present valid photo identification at the time of the test. Personal cell phones or calculators will not be allowed in the testing areas. Lockers are available for personal items during testing.

Barton Campus Testing:

Walk-in testing (including placement, TEAS and WIN) is available at the Testing Center at the Dreisbach/Anderson Student Success Center.

Walk-ins are welcomed Monday - Friday beginning at 8:30 a.m. The last time to start a test is 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday or 12 p.m. on Friday. (Please allow up to 3 hours for testing.)

Satellite Campus Testing:

Testing at satellite campuses is by appointment only. Students wishing to take the test in-person at a Satellite campus location must use the calendars provided below to secure a testing appointment. Please be sure that you are scheduling your placement test at the appropriate location.

Once the placement test has been scheduled, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address used to schedule the appointment with instructions specific to each location.

Scheduling instructions:

To schedule a placement testing appointment please use Google Chrome to open the link for the selected location.
Select the date and time you wish to schedule a placement testing appointment.
Enter student name (as it appears on your admissions application), telephone number and date of birth (please provide your GTC ID# if you have it).

REMOTE TESTING

Applicants living more than 50 miles from a Greenville Technical College campus may take their placement test at an Accuplacer test site located near them. To schedule, call our Placement Testing Center at 864-250-8020.
