Beginning Fall Semester 2024 through Spring Semester 2025, the Career Pathways Scholarship at Greenville Technical College (GTC) will award $2,500 each semester in scholarship money for students pursuing education that addresses statewide workforce shortages. This extra funding means that technology and career-related programs could be cost-free.
At GTC, all credit-based offerings are included in the Career Pathways Scholarship with the exception of Arts & Sciences programs, the applied bachelor’s degree in advanced manufacturing technology, and courses taken by dual enrollment students. Non-credit programs in Commercial Truck Driving, Phlebotomy, Certified Nursing Assistant, and Patient Care Technician are also included.
While the associate of arts and associate of sciences degrees that transfer to four-year institutions are excluded from the Career Pathways Scholarship, students in those programs are paying considerably less for the same credits than what they would pay elsewhere, and some students may be eligible for other scholarships or funds.
In order to qualify for the Career Pathway Scholarship at GTC, students must be South Carolina residents, be enrolled in an eligible program, have a high school diploma or GED, take six credit hours or more, and have a 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file at GTC. Tuition and eligible fees can be covered by the Career Pathways Scholarship at GTC if a balance remains after federal and state grants and scholarships are applied.
