Truist has strengthened its partnership with Greenville Technical College Foundation by awarding a $10,000 grant from its community development department to enhance the CHI Server Training Lab. The funds will provide essential furniture upgrades to create a top-tier learning environment for students pursuing careers in the hospitality industry.
Since its inception, Truist has been a steadfast supporter of CHI, providing a $1 million grant from the Truist Foundation in 2020. CHI has emerged as a cornerstone of West Greenville, offering culinary and hospitality training, job placement assistance, and community engagement. The center is committed to creating economic opportunities for local residents while meeting the industry’s demand for skilled talent.
"We are incredibly grateful for Truist’s continued support of our mission," said Ann Wright, Vice President for Advancement at Greenville Tech Foundation. "Their investment in CHI has directly contributed to the creation of a world-class learning environment that equips our students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the culinary and hospitality industry."
The CHI Server Training Lab offers hands-on experience in a simulated restaurant setting, preparing students for entry-level positions through Greenville Technical College’s Quick Jobs programs. The new furniture will create a more comfortable and professional learning space, enhancing the overall student experience.
"As Truist continues to partner with organizations dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve, we are excited to support Greenville Technical College Foundation’s culinary arts workforce development program,” said Alex Brame, South Carolina regional president at Truist. "The Greenville Technical Foundation has done an outstanding job providing resources to both Greenville Technical College and its students, and we look forward to making a positive impact together.”
