A February 2025 art exhibition at the Greenville Technical College library in celebration of African American History Month will feature the work of Regis and Kahran Bethencourt of Creative Soul Photography. The show will be on display from February 1 to February 27, 2025. An opening reception will be held on February 6, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Barton Campus library, located in the Student Center, building 105.
Regis and Kahran Bethencourt are the husband and wife team behind CreativeSoul Photography, a company on a mission to empower kids of color through photography that showcases their beauty, uniqueness, and creativity. Regis and Kahran have achieved major success, including being named two-time New York Times bestsellers for their coffee table books, Glory and Crowned, and winning the prestigious Coretta Scott King John Steptoe Award for their children's book, The Me I Choose to Be. Their AfroArt series, which highlights the beauty and versatility of afro hair, has gained global recognition and has been shared by celebrities including Will Smith and Taraji P. Henson. Their one-of-a-kind photos have also been featured on shows like The Steve Harvey Show and in publications like Teen Vogue and BET. Additionally, Kahran was recently inducted into the Greenville County Schools Hall of Fame.
