Vincent Weaver, department chair for the Management and Supply Chain Management programs at Greenville Technical College, has been selected as one of 28 people to participate in the Faculty Development in International Business program offered by University of South Carolina’s Center for International Business Education and Research.
The June trip to Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Zambia will provide opportunities for participants to experience firsthand the unique business opportunities and challenges of Sub-Saharan Africa as they travel to countries in Southern Africa to participate in business and academic site visits, cultural tours, and academic and professional seminars. Visits may include embassies and consulates, governmental and non-governmental agencies, financial institutions, colleges and universities, ecotourism sites, and more.
Funding for Weaver’s participation was made possible by the Center for International Business Education and Research, part of the Darla Moore School of Business at USC.
Weaver has taught at Greenville Technical College since 2002 and has been recognized for academic excellence and innovation by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs with a 2024 ACBSP Teaching Excellence Award. In 2024, he was also named GTC Professor of the Year.
