The National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) has presented Greenville Technical College (GTC) with five Medallion awards, recognizing outstanding marketing, communications, and public relations achievements at community and technical colleges.
In the logo wear category, GTC was recognized with a gold award for its branded hoodie, created to celebrate the college’s refreshed identity. The design helped generate excitement among students and employees, building pride and unity around the new college brand and colors.
In the booklet category, GTC achieved gold for its marketing booklet, College Marketing: Inspiring Impact. Amplifying Reach., which captured a milestone year for the college marked by a refreshed brand and significant institutional progress. The piece reflected how marketing supports student success and community connection through storytelling and impact.
GTC achieved a silver award in the e-card competition for its 2024 holiday card, which featured retiring president Keith Miller hosting a virtual tour of the college’s newly opened Prisma Health Center for Health & Life Sciences. The card not only highlighted the college’s progress but served as a reminder that then-president Miller would be retiring in July 2025.
In the communications success story category, GTC was awarded a bronze medallion for ribbon cutting at the Prisma Health Center for Health & Life Sciences. The event featured skeletons, which are used in anatomy and physiology classrooms, holding the ribbon as it was cut. Guided tours held as part of the event built interest in healthcare programs, leading to an increase in applications for many of the majors housed in that facility.
GTC also achieved a bronze award in the government or community relations campaign category. In response to the troubled launch of the 2024–25 FAFSA, Greenville Technical College partnered with United Way of Greenville County to help families access vital financial aid through the “Don’t Leave Money on the Table” campaign.Executed through digital ads, radio remotes, and on-campus support events, the initiative positioned Greenville Tech as a trusted, college-neutral FAFSA resource for the community. The cross-functional campaign was led by Greenville Technical College with funding from United Way of Greenville County, uniting marketing, financial aid, and community outreach teams to ensure students didn’t miss out on opportunities for college funding.
